In a tiny village of Bad Neuenahar – Arhweiller a renowned spa town in the Rhine River Valley is a spectacular garden where people from around the world come for five days to learn from the master Gregor Lersch. I met the Sultan of Oman’s flower team, Laura Dowling who became chief florist at the time at the White House for almost eight years under the Obama’s and also the Queen of Demark’s flower gruru. Gregor’s lively personality makes it for one of the best five days in June. We had courses in “Dead and Alive” material or “Straight and Curvy” from this many different elements of flower design were created. His courses sell out about six months in advance and is reasonably priced at approx 860 Euro, airfare and hotel separately. The weiner schnitzel is divine and so is the local riesling.
